that is a little crane that is used to lower the pump into the well that is located in the pump house. The well was dug back in the 50s when the house was first built. We have a good water table under our home, so to save money, we are going to pump our own water to take care of plants... think yard too... not 100% sure... any ways. Nice to have in West Texas :).

DeleteThe well is a good ~150 or so feet, but think the water level (table) is around 30 feet down in our area.
DeleteOh, that's very cool! But really hope Lubbock will not be as dry and hot as last year. And plants in your yard will be good :)!
